The hiring of a temporary employee will allow the Outside Services department to continue to meet meter reading deadlines to provide accurate customer billing while evaluating the needs of the department towards the future as AMI metering is implemented. This temporary position is anticipated to last until the end of the year.

Job Description:

  • This position will assist the utility with duties as assigned and work with the group to provide support as needed. The Metering and Outside Services department has identified opportunities in the following areas.
  • Read Meter Routes
  • Posting customers for non-payment
  • Assist with scheduling customer appointments.
  • Assist with radio meter installation.
  • Identifying types of water services in GIS
  • Assist with locating (moving equipment on large projects)
  • Service orders - read out / read in, Compare, INOU's
  • Help with refreshing up locates with big projects.
  • Prep meters and associated equipment for field personnel
  • Assist with installing instrument rated metering.
  • Sandblast & refurbish water meters.
  • Single phase electric meter testing
  • Verify backflow device serial numbers at commercial businesses.
  • General shop clean-up

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess customer service skills and function as a team player.
  • Must have a neat appearance and ability to communicate effectively with customers.
  • Must show consistent positive approach in dealing with customers and peers.
  • Must possess good math skills.
  • Must be able to attend work on a regular basis.

Pay & Hours

  • $15/hr; 7:30a-4:00p (M-F)

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Clean restrooms throughout the utility
• Sweep hallways and offices
• Wipe down desks, computers and TV’s

Project Estimator - Savanna, IL Direct Hire position – this person will go directly on the payroll of the company they are being placed at.  Company will look at a relocation expense reimbursement for the right candidate.

OVERVIEW

Project Estimator will be responsible for deciding the projected time frame needed to complete a project and additional factors like labor needs, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet with homeowners, contractors and subcontractors to fully estimate new projects and remodel projects
  • Perform the estimating, ordering and scheduling of jobs
  • Attend jobsite meetings
  • Oversee the install department from start to finish

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS                    

  • Prior experience as an estimator
  • 10-15 years experience installing residential, and commercial ductwork and equipment
  • IA mechanical license is a plus
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually
  • Good level of attention to detail
  • Ability to follow management requests and communicate effectively

Accountant Manager SUMMARY
The Accountant’s primary responsibility will be reporting all financial operations to the executive leadership team.  This includes any operational/financial suggestions and concerns.  In addition to  general accounting and financial duties, this position oversees and leads the accounting team who processes payroll, accounts receivables and payables.

OVERVIEW
• Preparing monthly P&L’s and Balance Sheets for multiple companies and divisions
• Assisting with development of weekly KPI’s for the executive leadership team
• Preparing annual budgets for multiple companies and divisions.
• Monitoring cash flow and managing multiple checking and savings accounts
• Processing weekly payroll and transmitting direct deposits for multiple companies
• Preparing and submitting withholding, payroll, and income tax reports and payments
• Streamlining accounting processes and procedures
• Managing assets, leases, depreciation and loan payments
• Overseeing and leading accounting team to ensure tasks are completed accurately and timely
• Ensuring accounting team is cross-trained
• Performing additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field required
• A minimum of three years of accounting/finance experience is required
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in leading people
• High attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet hard deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with Accounting-based software and Microsoft office products
• Experience with the trucking industry is preferred, but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers/scanners. • Dress is business casual.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen.  The employee frequently  is required to stand and walk.

Job Duties

Qualifications
• Experience in fleet maintenance management – at least 5 years preferred

• Thorough knowledge of safety maintenance practices, and DOT, OSHA, and other applicable federal and state regulations
• Experience with computers including but not limited to maintenance management systems, Microsoft office
• Target and productivity driven, with the ability to solve problems and provide feedback
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong people and project management skills
• Well-developed business and financial skills, with a record of improving businesses through enhanced operating efficiency
• Understanding of cost control management and ability to develop and implement measures to reduce cost
