Overview
Responsible for the setup and operation of one or more CNC machine tools to produce component parts
Overview

Performs diversified operations on numerical control machining centers

Performs a variety of milling, drilling, boring, or related operations to close and interrelated tolerances

Selects and installs cutting tools in machine spindle or magazine

Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions, such as worn or damaged cutting tools

Changes cutting tools and location of work piece during machining process as specified in setup instructions

Maintains continuous focus, as set-ups require very tight tolerances to ensure proper set-up

Measures work piece for conformance to specifications

Notifies supervisor of discrepancies

Cleans machine, tooling, and parts

Performs machine maintenance
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, rate, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
