Job Description: The Confined Space Rescue Technician is responsible for providing emergency response and technical rescue services during permit-required confined space (PRCS) operations. This position supports industrial clients by conducting confined space rescue operations, assisting with hazard assessments, developing rescue pre-plans, and ensuring the safe execution of confined space entry activities.
Technicians are deployed as part of an emergency response team based on the hazards associated with each project. They utilize specialized rescue equipment, atmospheric monitoring instruments, and respiratory protection to respond to potentially hazardous and immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform technical rescue operations in permit-required confined spaces, including IDLH environments.

Participate in confined space rescue operations involving non-entry rescue, high-angle rescue, and entry rescue using self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) or supplied-air respiratory protection, as required.

Assist in the development and implementation of written confined space rescue pre-plans specific to each permit-required confined space.

Conduct hazard assessments and identify potential risks associated with confined space entry and rescue operations.

Operate and maintain confined space rescue equipment, including atmospheric monitoring instruments, intrinsically safe fans, blowers, and respiratory protection equipment.

Perform atmospheric monitoring and assist in maintaining safe environmental conditions during confined space operations.

Provide confined space entry, attendant, and supervisory support to client projects when required.

Work collaboratively with rescue team members, client personnel, and project supervisors to ensure safe and effective rescue operations.

Assist with confined space project planning and execution during industrial outages, turnarounds, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Follow applicable safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards during all rescue and confined space operations.

Participate in the preparation, inspection, calibration, and deployment of rescue equipment and monitoring instruments.
