Production Labor-Machine Operator

OVERVIEW
This is a Full-time Temp-to-Hire job opportunity.  This is a 2nd shift position that will transition to a 3rd shift position within a few months.  Individual must be able to operate machinery, load/unload freight, manage inventory, as well as general maintenance.  The goal of this position is to encompass all aspects of the manufacturing process in order to move into a supervisory position on 3rd shift. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operate extruder machinery
• Maintain the efficiency of the equipment by continuously repairing and cleaning the equipment.
• Set up dies, heating coils, press tools, and hand tools within the extrusion machinery and make certain the configuration matches the expected product specifications
• Manage inventory
• Loading/unloading of incoming/outbound freight
• General maintenance of equipment and machinery

• Will train on 2nd shift and move to 3rd

Quality Engineer-Romer Arm Operator

OVERVIEW
This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity at a premier manufacturing facility in Mt Pleasant.  This position combines machine operation with quality assurance.  Individual with assures consistent quality of products by developing and enforcing quality manufacturing practice systems; validating processes, and providing documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
• Operate a Romer Arm (Coordinating Measuring Machine)
• Use fixtures, gages, measuring devices to perform inspections of manufactured parts, tools, and assemblies
• Create inspection of programs for a Romer Arm
• Manage all aspect of quality for assigned customers to include:
             o Developing work instructions
             o PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process)
             o Maintain master samples
             o Resolve corrective actions
             o Perform first article inspections
• Ability to travel when necessary
• Work overtime as required

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong language/writing skills.  Ability to write reports, work instructions, correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers as well as company management.
• Strong math/analytical skills.  Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
• Ability to analyze processes and parts and analyze potential failure modes
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage time tasks with little management oversight
• Familiarity with reading part prints

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree or specific certifications directly related to position
• 2-5 years experience in manufacturing

To be successful at this job you must be able to perform each of the Job Responsibilities satisfactorily. This position requires you to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Sunday. Beginning January 1, 2015 shift will change to rotating schedule that only requires you to work every other weekend.

• Changes the machine from one style/size envelope to the other style/size with the least amount of downtime
• Sets the minimum and maximum speeds on all folding and attachment equipment maintaining optimum speed for each job

• Gathers all of the necessary parts/attachments for the machine prior to the time of a machine change where it is practical to reduce downtime
